Founder & Chief Executive
Dr. Marcus Edelen
Founder & Chief Executive Officer — Halofinity (est. June 2022)
Marcus founded Halofinity in June 2022 with a clear mandate: build an investment platform with the same yield infrastructure accessible to institutional capital managers, and make it available to private investors globally from a minimum of $500.
Prior to Halofinity, Marcus spent 16 years in institutional portfolio management across Lagos, London, and Dubai — managing multi-asset strategies for family offices and sovereign wealth adjacent funds. He holds a doctorate in Financial Economics from the University of Lagos and an MSc in Investment Management from Cass Business School, London. He chairs the Halofinity Investment Committee and is the named signatory on every quarterly independent audit submission.
Under his leadership, the platform has delivered yield to every active investor position since launch, expanded to 50+ countries, and produced its all-time record year in 2025 when the Aggressive Equity strategy delivered 112% APY on annual lock positions.

Governance

How Decisions Are Made

Every significant decision at Halofinity — from strategy APY adjustments to fee changes — passes through a defined governance structure before reaching investors.

Investment Committee
Chaired by the CEO and attended by the CIO, CFO, and Head of Risk. Meets bi-weekly to review strategy performance against prospectus APY ranges and authorise reallocation decisions. All meeting outcomes are documented and available to auditors.
Compliance Review Board
The CCO chairs a quarterly compliance review attended by external legal counsel. Reviews AML/KYC policy effectiveness, regulatory change management, and investor complaint resolution. Findings inform the compliance section of every prospectus update.
Independent Audit Cycle
Quarterly independent audits are commissioned outside the leadership team chain of command. The CFO provides the required financial records; the audit firm operates independently and its findings are published in full — including any variance between target and delivered APY.
Investor Change Notification
Any change to platform terms — APY range, fee structure, lock mechanics, or compliance obligations — requires a 30-day advance notice issued to all active investors before taking effect. This is a non-negotiable platform obligation enforced at board level.
